Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shankar is a British-American sitar player and music artist. She is the youngest woman and also the first woman to be awarded a British House of Commons shield. Anoushka Shankar is the hottest young star of the Indian sitar. She is Ravi Shankar's pupil, and the daughter of Ravi Shankar. She was born in London in 1982, and her first years she split between London New Delhi. She gave her debut performance on stage in New Delhi at the tender 13 years old. Later she moved to Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Although she is still very young Anouskha has an impressive performing and recording record. She performs regularly together with her dad, and has done so for quite a number of years. The year 1998 saw her debuted Anourag as her debut single album. The album was released in 2002. her Grammy Nominated Live at Carnegie Hall. Since she's performed at many of the biggest stages around the world, her stage career has been expansive. The career of Anoushka doesn't only include musical performances. In 2002, she wrote the book Bapi The love of My Live this is a picture-based biography, which is a respect to her dad Ravi Shankar. In 2003, she appeared as an Bharat natyam young dancer in Dance Like a Man. Anoushka Shakar's professional career will only continue to grow and grow. Anoushka Shankar was born in England and spent the majority of her childhood in London and Delhi later relocating to California in the state where she attended high school. Anoushka Shankar began her musical studies at the age of nine. After four years she performed her music debut with the sitar Delhi for her father's 70th birthday party. Her father traveled around the world with her and she was able to gain many new opportunities. While still in her teens, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall during Peter Gabriel's WOMAD Music Festival. She was the youngest and only female winner of the House of Commons Shield awarded by British Parliament for her talent and musical ability as a leading musician of the Asian Arts.
