Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is an British and American sitarist. She also performs music. She was among the youngest and first woman to receive an award from the British House of Commons Shield she's received 9 Grammy Awards nominations and was the first artist of Indian origin to perform live in concert and act as a host at the award ceremony. Anoushka Shankar is one of India's most promising stars on the sitar. She is a student and granddaughter of legendary Ravi Shankar. She spent her childhood bouncing back and forth from London to New Delhi. At the age of 13 she performed her debut performance on stage in New Delhi. After that, she moved to Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Anouskha's career as a musician and performer is impressive, despite her age. She is often seen performing alongside her father and has done so for a long time years. In 1998, she released Anourag as her first album as a solo artist. The album was released in 2002. her Grammy nominated album Live At Carnegie Hall. As she's appeared on every major stage in all over the globe, her stage career is extensive. Anoushka's career goes beyond the realm of music. Bapi: The Love of My Live is her 2002 memoir, that is a tribute to Ravi Shankar. In addition, she been in the role of. in the 2003 movie Dance Like a Man, where she played the role of a Bharat dancer in the form of a young girl. Anoushka Shakar's career as a professional will only continue to grow and expand. It is possible to look forward to seeing many interesting things coming from her. Anoushka Shankar was born and raised in England and spent much of her childhood in London and Delhi later relocating to California where she attended the high school. at the age of nine, she started studying the piano with her father. Her first performance with the Sitar took place at her 75th Birthday celebration in Delhi, four years after. Anoushka was able to gain a great deal of experience touring around the globe along with her dad. She performed in Carnegie Hall in her teenage years, and recorded at George Harrison's WOMAD Festival. As a tribute to her status as one of the top musicians in Asian Arts, she was awarded the House of Commons Shield by British Parliament.
